GRASSROOTS ENERGY TO STAND UNWAVERING FOR COMMUNITY
With 40 years in her community, the motivation to serve on this level comes from working on issues that impact our communities daily. From tenants rights, criminal justice, youth development, food justice, small business growth, immigration, voting rights and civic engagement, there is a wide range of understanding that Shanequa has developed over the last two and a half decades.
As a chemical dependence and mental health provider for over a decade, she has provided service for thousands of people in the community. Her service began as a young person and although there have been some bumps along the way, what she knows is that being directly impacted by the very issues of the people she will serve as Assemblymember of the 78th District put her in a very unique position to fulfill the job with integrity, experience and unrelenting passion.
A mother, woman of color, organizer, member of community and fierce ally, she fights for the whole community.
